Miriam Steinberg | Dutch | 1975 | Design Academy | Rietveld Academy

She started her career in 1998 as a graphic designer, and the past 25 years she has worked on different type of projects from logo and book design to film projects.

After the production of the indie documentary 'the Unknown Runner', she started experimenting with photography, and other techniques and materials. Nature as the source of inspiration, her work a graphic interpretation. She Is based in the Netherlands and France, where she has a studio.

Landscapes form the base of my work. Depending on the circumstances I work with a digital or analogue camera and use different techniques such as multiple exposure or intentional camera movement. Creating a visual interplay between the natural environment and its graphic interpretation. By using different printing techniques and materials I try to create an abstract impression of a natural landscape with layers, depth, and disturbance.
