BIO & ARTIST STATEMENT
Miriam Steinberg | 1975 | Dutch | Design Academy | Rietveld Academy
Her career started in 1998 as a graphic designer. These days, she still works on client-based projects, but she mainly focuses on her art. With a studio in France she regularly reside in between The Netherlands and France.
'Photographic imagery forms the foundation, landscapes are the subject. I use what nature shows me and create extra depth in what already exists. Creating the type of peace and space in which one wants to retreat with complete surrender.
I love to head out into nature and immerse myself in the moment of time, light, and space. The captured image elaborated in a mix of techniques and materials, often with resin as a base. With their own characteristics they influence the overall image giving the work its visual language. A unique experience with disruptive elements, arousing curiosity.'
