BIO & ARTIST STATEMENT
Miriam Steinberg | 1975 | Dutch | Design Academy | Rietveld Academy
Her career started in 1998 as a graphic designer. These days, she still works on client-based projects, but she mainly focuses on her art. With a studio in France she regularly reside in between The Netherlands and France.
Photographic imagery forms the foundation, landscapes are the subject. She uses what nature shows her and creates extra depth in what already exists. Creating the type of peace and space in which one wants to retreat with complete surrender.
'I love to head out into nature and immerse myself in the moment of time, light, and space. The captured image elaborated in a mix of techniques and materials, often with resin as a base. With their own characteristics they influence the overall image giving the work its visual language. A unique experience with disruptive elements, arousing curiosity.'
